Krishnaraj Rai passed away today at a suburban hospital here due to health issues. He is the father of famous actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Krishnaraj Rai was suffering from cancer. He was hospitalised a few weeks ago and later due to critical condition he was shifted to the ICU.
“Aishwarya’s father Krishnaraj Rai passed away at the Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra,” the publicist of the actress had told .
The funeral took place around 8.30 PM at Vile Parle Seva Sansthan Shamshan Bhoomi where Aishwarya’s father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan also offered prayers.
Krishnaraj Rai was living with his wife Vrinda and son Aditya.
A host of celebrities including actors Shah Rukh Khan, Kunal Kapoor and filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ashutosh Gowariker paid their last respects to Aishwarya’s father.
